  • Deshan Styler Naidoo, is a South African Born Musician, who has an enormous fan following and support for his Music in South Africa.  Affectionately Dubbed has “DSN”  – “The Golden Voice “by his fans, which ranges from little babies who fall asleep and awake to the melody  of his voice to 70 year old music lovers fulling their dreams of recording a CD under his banner.
  • DSN is well known for his versatility in both Western and Eastern music. His portfolio includes his recognition as Singer, his live performances, either as a Solo artist with accompanying musicians or as a part of a Band that he currently grooms under his wing. He has had the singular privilege to perform with international play back singers, while they are on tour in South Africa, and His performances are sure to make the headlines and also brings on an overwhelming out cry for more. Has a singer he is often described as one, who has been born with Music infused in his blood. He has featured in the Local Newspapers on numerous occasions for raising the bar for local talent
  • Deshan Styler Naidoo is also a well versed Percussionist, who has proudly explored the possibilities of percussion instruments, through fusion and incorporation of Eastern and Western beats. A Maestro on the Keyboard, His prized instrument that drives his passion and Love for Music, is the seed from where he has grown into the Musical Giant that he is, who towers over the local Music scenes.
  • He is the Owner and Music Director of – STYLER MUSIC PRODUCTION – a record Label and Professional recording studio that is currently producing the best quality recording in Durban, at the most affordable cost.
  • Under his Record Label of Styler Music Productions, he also composes original Musical works for himself and a host of local musicians both recognised and up and coming artists
  • DSN is a recording artist as well who has released and recorded  16 albums to date, cover tracks, singles and Music videos
  • DSN keeps a close eye on his Social Responsibility and has assisted innumerable Non-profit organisations to raise funding and bring awareness to their social wellbeing drives, and projects. He also supports the Music industry by  growing, and grooming young and upcoming talents and providing them with platforms to experience Music to its Fullest

PROFILE OF DESHAN STYLER NAIDOO

Born and raised in the humble town Of Mount edgecombe and completing his schooling at Greenbury Secondary School in Phoenix, 26 year old Deshan Naidoo carry’s forth the cultural passions of his Parents Beama Naidoo and Sushiela Navamoney Naidoo. Both Parents are versatile and talented singers, his mother, being a Vocalist for the great Kalayvani Orchestra and later moving on to sing with Luxmi Entertainers, she is also notably the very first Bharatha Natayam Dancer in Mount edge combe. Both parents hold much acclaim for their contribution to the Arts through Music and Dance

Humble Beginnings

  • Drawing his inspiration and passion for Music from his parents he began his musical career at the tender age of 3 years old, learning to play his first instrument, the Tabla under the guidance of the respected late Guru Gopalan Govender & Ashley Kisten.
  • Music and Deshan have since become inseparable through his exploration of many other different musical instruments he acclaims to his name, such as the Keyboard, Harmonium, Gatam, Ganjira, Mrudhangam, Thavil, Dholak, Octopad and Jazz Drums. His skill, expertise and precision on these instruments have inspired many other musicians and youngsters to pursue their dreams of playing such versatile instruments.
  • Under the guidance of his mother Deshan recorded his first song “Aum Woru Naalum ” on cd at only 8 years old. He now proudly holds a collection of Albums that have been released since 2009. Deshan has also featured on 7 other albums, under other Music Directors. Fourteen of his Albums are Devotional Albums that have received sensational support. This Divine Collection is definitely a must for all Devotional Music Fanatics. Deshan has often been referred to as the “Devotional Dynamite “a term speaking volumes of the level of Vibration that will be felt through his Devotional renditions.

  • While he enthrals with his Devotional Renditions and has a huge following for this type of music, it is rare to find a singer who can equally perform light multi-lingual film and Western music. Deshan calls the great AR Rahman his Music Idol, who is currently his greatest inspiration to succeed and learn more about music.
  • In keeping with his thirst for exploring Musical possibilities, Deshan Styler Naidoo released his first Original RNB Album Real Eyez in 2016, the album received much praise for the trendy track “My Style”
  • More recently in 2016 he released 2 Sensational Single Tracks namely , “Outta Control & “Can’t  Move On “ , in a new fresh approach as the Music Composer, set against the Vocals of a new comer Neil Sylvester Chetty, these tracks have rocketed on social media and DSN has received much praise for the standard of Music produced, receiving much compliments from radio stations, DJ’s and Local Music Promoters
  • Another accolade in 2016 was DSN’s next release of “First Kiss” By Local Band IGNITE, once again as the featured Composer, Music director and Arranger, DSN, in his creative brilliance brought together a mix of Indian Drums, RNB / Rap, a perfect display of Music extending its hand in Social Cohesion

  • As a performer he has graced more than 80 different platforms performing to large scale audiences, featured on National & International television. Deshan has had the priveledge and honour to locally perform with Great  International Playback and Devotional Singers, on their visits to SA, to name a few, TM Soundarajen & P. Shushiela , Harini , Unni Menon , K Ragavan , Vijay Flautist , Raju Veeramani , Kanan Veeramani , Pandian , Jayaluxmi , Drummer Sivamani , Pallakad Sreeram , Raja Raja Cholan , Usha Raj. Internationally he has performed with the famous Band Lakshman Sruthi and with Playback Singers Malthi Lakshman and Suchitra. He has had the privilege of Accompanying Keyboard Sathya on Ganjira at his house.
  • Other international attributes include performing a full devotional program recorded at Jaya TV studios that was telecast the following day.
  • Deshan Naidoo has received numerous accolades and awards from various companies & organisations from in and around South Africa. His most prized award being the SABC SATMA AWARD, he has also received international recognition by being awarded by a Chennai based band “Lakshman Sruthi” for music contribution in South Africa.
  • Deshan Styler Naidoo is regularly has been interviewed and has had the privilege to work with many of SA’S Cultural embassoders and extremely talented Musicians
  • He has featured at many hot spot events, temple and religious organisations promoting Music and Culture

Deshan’s Love for Music extends beyond himself, reaching others. His aim is all about targeting youth and teaching them how to play instruments, culture and how music can help your everyday life, he believes strongly that if children are involved now, the future will definitely look much brighter.

  • Deshan holds Tabala & Keyboard Classes in Phoenix and Tongaat and is trying accommodate the growing demand for him to soon expand to reach more music lovers in other areas.
  • He has produced over 20 students who are currently performing in the South African music industry. Evidence of this is seen with the incredible band that he heads currently.

  • Initially established in 2006, under the name Aanandhe Raagam, Deshan took on the reigns of overseeing this band from 2010, and it reached its 10th year in existence in 2015, In celebrating the bands 10th year it was relaunched with a New Name, “Awesome Rhythms” a name fresh to the feel of the bands growth and versatility of Music Genres, it reached in its 10th
  • The band is proudly a youth band, termed in a catch phrase as “Kznz Finest” and is bursting with insatiable talent. They have adorned many functions and have left their audiences in awe by their reverting performances. Deshan prides himself in releasing the following band albums: Blissful Melodies (Collection of Tamil & Hindi Films songs) 2013, Awesome Rhythms (Collection of Tamil & Hindi Films songs) 2015, Live in Concert Show DVD -2016. Deshan has a special message for the youth out there “shoot for the moon because even if you miss you land amongst the stars “

Deshan’s Dynamic and Stylish approach to the magic of music, has earned him the affectionate fan name “Deshan Styler Naidoo”, because of his appeal to the younger generation.
